Malta Providing eLearning opportunities to students and adult learners
For the next three years, Malta shall be participating in the Avicenna Virtual Campus project, providing eLearning opportunities to students and adult learners in the Euro-Med region. The project, financially supported by the EU through the EUMEDIS programme, is being coordinated by UNESCO. On Tuesday, Louis Galea, the education minister, launched the Avicenna Virtual Campus project in Malta as well as the new Fondazzjoni Temi Zammit which will be made up of various local partners and which will be implementing the project. Named after Ibn Sina (981 – 1037 AD), the most famous philosopher, mathematician and astronomer of his time, the virtual campus project will create a network of eLearning centres around the Mediterranean.
