South Africa's New Learning System - Mucheru Kelvin, The East African Standard
South African university systems of distance learning will now be consolidated under one programme, South Africa High Commissioner to Kenya, Lucas Makhubela, has said The consolidation of the system, which is known as the "Open Learning University of South Africa", will take effect next year. Makhubela said the process will effectively bring together three institutions of higher distance learning under one roof. He said the three institution UNISA, Technikon SA, and Vista University, are expected to merge by January 1, 2004.
