Introduction: Distance Education has become paramount as an alternative method of course delivery being used by colleges and universities as they expand access to higher education at both the national and international level.... Distance Education appears to be in a unique position to serve diverse learners who can not or will not participate in the traditional classroom setting. Thus, it is important to examine the characteristics, a portrait if you will, of these learners in order to be able to best serve them.
