Electronic gaming is obstructing e-learning - Madeleine Brindley, The Wales Western Mail

The advent of home computers was meant to herald an age of learning from your armchair. The expansion of the internet with the world at your finger tips should have been a valuable educational resource for knowledge-thirsty children. But it would appear the potential for e-learning is being lost amid the phenomenon of electronic gaming and the sheer cost of running interactive websites. New research has concluded that more investment is needed in the e-learning industry if it is ever to compete with the 101 other uses we find for our PCs.
