Distance Learning Takes Off - WINK-TV
Southwest Florida is no exception to the distance learning boom. In fact, Florida Gulf Coast University has some of the latest distance learning technology. Starting this fall, some classes there will simultaneously broadcast over the internet in Charlotte County and Naples all in hopes of reaching out to students who can't make the drive. "I think this technology is magic. It's going to open the university to move even more off campus into the counties we serve," says Executive Director of FGCU's Charlotte Co. Branch, Robert Burns, Ph.D. Burns says the technology is only going to get better, but it's already impressive.
