Distance learning is beneficial but not widely OK'd, panel says - PHILIP WALZER, The Virginian-Pilot
Distance learning has greatly expanded the reach of education across the state, but plenty of obstacles -- including bureaucracy and turf wars -- still obstruct its path, educators told a state task force Tuesday. The task force was created in May by state Attorney General Jerry Kilgore to reduce barriers to attending college. On Tuesday, the panel focused on distance education, meeting first at Old Dominion University and then at Tidewater Community College.
