Faculties Must Adapt to Changing Needs - Business Day (Johannesburg)
AS MBAs adapt to meet the changing needs of business, faculties also need to develop a range of new competencies, says Mark Peters, director: marketing at Wits Business School.... Increased access to information, such as web-based learning, e-learning and learning on an intranet at work, has demanded significant changes in teaching style, says Peters. "There's been much excitement and, probably, a lot of fear in higher education concerning the consequences of electronically mediated learning for providers," he says. "In management education we're already seeing the rise of educational experiences that combine elements of face-to-face learning with e-learning through CDs or over the internet.
