Freeland had been looking forward to retiring this June. But Sergeant Freeland, a combat engineer at Fort Hood, Tex., won't be retiring after all. He has chosen instead to extend his enlistment for at least another three years because the Army has offered to pick up the tab on the bachelor's degree in business administration he has been pursuing. "How could I refuse?" he asks....
