Bill Would Allow More Financial Aid For Net Learning

Sen. Mike Enzi, R-Wyo., Friday introduced legislationthat he said would allow mainly distance-learning-based colleges and universities to expand their Internet-based programs by allowing their students more access to federal financial aid. Enzi, along with Sens. Bob Dorgan, D-N.D., Bill Frist, R-Tenn., and Tim Hutchinson, R-Ark., introduced the Internet Equity and Education Act of 2001, S. 1445, which Enzi in a statement said would bring more "flexibility of distance education programs through the Internet."...
